The Bahay Na Bato (Stone House) constructed in the ancient Spanish era has been preserved by its original structure by the Ivatans, (Batanes locals). The modernized "kubo" (Palm House) has been a famous and top attraction in the town having the opportunity of trying on their native ancestral costume made of dried palms and thatches. The original architecture continues to inspire viewers and visitors all over the world. Have a knock. You are most welcome!

PHILIPPINES, THE HOUSE OF DAKAY – AN UNDEFEATED SHELTER
Ivana, Batanes, Philippines deliberately stands a no doubt original structure of Bahay Na Bato (Stone House) built by the Ivatans during the Spanish colony. Re tagged as HOUSE OF DAKAY, the Stone House is a modernized version of the "Bahay Kubo" ( house made of dried palms and thatches) commonly and generally used by our early ancestors. The house guarantees durability from all calamities like storm, floods, earthquakes, as every corner, every side, and all over the foundation are made of pure big stones. However, the house harmonizes with the weather as well. Humid if it is hot, but as cold as the climate season brings. The house has a wide door and windows open for natural ventilation and is surrounded by refreshing mini plants and trees. A bonus try of the native costume made of weeds, dried palms, and other preserved leaves with poses for photo shoots is an added delight for this visit.
