Thailand, Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Park or just Elephant Jungle. This park is located in Kathu District on the Island of Phuket. This amazing oasis of serenity is an excellent rival to island bustle and throng character. To any of you who run from your steady, monotony 8-16 jobs and city noise, Phuket will offer excellent beaches, wonderful cuisine, amazing nightlife, lots of entertaining days at the beach but that ultimate moment of tranquility you’ve dreaming about will be reached only on a place like this.

Imagine yourself packed at cozy Sunday down into this truck. Having on you only the backpack filled with a towel for beach, few beers, and sandwiches ( in my case chocolate bars ), high-resolution camera and lots and lots of peanuts. Swimming apparel is a must, do not walk around naked Thai people are open-minded, but to some level (didn’t dare to find out, just heard).
[for the best guidance on jungle outfit, look the photo above]
OK so now, as you set up yourself you’re ready to go and explore. No, those pea-nuts are not meant to entertain your teeth, keep them in the backpack. If you’ll still need something to boost morning energy and rise protein levels, the perfect start of exploring locality would be this holy water of locals. I tried and it works, belief to the narrator!
But, if coconut flavor is not your cup of tea, you could still reach for a beer. Every-one loves beer. And don’t worry, even though your mind tells you it’s early to start drinking, remember you’re on vacation.

As you step on-site, you’ll be hit by this:
Greens and plants as far as the eye can see. In all sorts of shapes, shades, and sizes. At very begging this might make you color blind but when this fellow smile at you, all your sites will open up again. Spiritually too.
Then, when you’ve got a greeting from the greatest hostess ever seen, head for gathering point. Sanctuary open bar offers a pint of fresh coconut milk ( again ) and plan of the tour for that day. If you are into something stronger than cocoa milk, now you’ll understand the idea of bringing beers with you. Do not expect DJ’s, after parties, and foam sticky people at the bar counter, but to get at least some customer experience locals will provide everyone with fun facts about the usage of cocoa. You’ll be thrilled about what that water can do!

Now when everything is cleared and you’re set to go, be ready to embark on limousine of you’re lifetime! Although this limo is fully automatic still, even the license for a jet plane will not guarantee you’ll have full control of the ride. But that’s what makes this ride unforgettable. When you were able to interact with a car back home? You’re driving Tesla? OK you did, but could you feed you Tesla with peanuts while he’s slapping you with his trunk? Never! Tesla doesn’t even have a trunk!
[Like any other limo, this one also comes with a driver]
If someone is afraid of the fast and furious Thai edition, sanctuary did prepare a more flirtatious ride. For all of you princesses and princes, here you go. Take a sit on posh and luxurious jungle carriage. Please do not expect rose petals to be thrown on you, you’re not that classy.
Instead, you’ll be greeted by gentlemen dressed in all black tuxedo.
As we’re advancing the rocky road, traffic starts to rumble. Same as at Friday late noon jam, we’ve got a bit exhausted and couldn’t wait to arrive at the final station. There, we were challenged on a football match against these two talented strikers in all the peanuts we held in bags.
As we were familiar with a football game either, the match was unpredictable till the very end. Some might say a draw is a fair score for both sides, but we were furious as the sanctuary team stole all of the love from the audience. This made us extremely unhappy and set for revenge. On the final referee whistle, like a true gentleman, we’ve shaken hands and trunks. Although it was a draw, we’ve handled all the peanuts to our opponents. Having them surprised by our gesture, they’ve decided to surprise us as well.
[Oh my, that was one of best massages I’ve ever received]
Just before leaving this magnificent place, we needed to do a final check for some hidden injuries on our toes. Our host didn’t want to let us go unprepared for the rest of the day. Although beaches on Phuket are covered with fine, golden sand some rocks could sneak here and there. Your toes must operate at the highest performance. In that matter, fishy treatment was just what I needed.
Again, we’ve embarked on our coach, now heading to the beach for a cherry-on-top finish of the day. With mixed feelings, being sad we’ve needed to leave green oasis, serotonin levels in our bodies didn’t let us fall in despair. Knowing we’re going to one of the best beaches around with dozens of bars did us well too!
After such a lovely but physically demanding day, laid back time in the shallow water of Patong beach was the perfect end of it. As the beer was drunken long be-fore, cocktails crafted by talented bartenders of Patong, ideally matched the state of our minds at that moment. Engaged by the sand on our skin, sun in hour hair and pictures of the sanctuary in our mind led to one final photo of joy and happiness in it’s the purest form.
For an experience like this please visit Patong Beach and Phuket. It will create memories of a lifetime. And don’t forget the sanctuary. It really doesn’t matter which one, all of them will bring the best in you. Knowing that some Thai people in rural areas still live like sanctuaries are set up. And you have a nice cozy life, a good job and all of the advantages the modern world brings to us.
