Today we will visit a scenic spot tucked in the midst of highly urbanized Hong Kong.So off we went to Nan Lian Garden located near Diamond Hill MTR. Since we had our elderly folks and 2 small kids in tow, we planned it to be a very simple and relaxing tour in the beautiful garden and followed by a sumptuous vegetarian lunch at Chi Lin Vegetarian restaurant located within the garden. Good choice we made as after days of seafood and meat, its time to cleanse our palates.
We had quite a fun time strolling around and taking pictures especially at the waterfall where you feel so tranquil at the sight of it. Chi Lin Vegetarian Restaurant is located just behind the waterfall. As you can see from the pictures, the trees are all trimmed nicely and the overall surroundings are very well maintain. Be mindful not to trample on the nice grass patches or even pluck a leave as there are quite a few security guards keeping a watchful eye.And of course no food and drinks, just plain water while you are touring the garden.
How to get there!
- Take MRT ride to Diamond Hill station, exit from C2
- Lookout for this direction sign that will lead you to Nan Lian Garden
- Entering the gate of Nan Lian garden and you will start feeling freshness of the morning breeze and comfort of sunlight streaming through your body

Just beside Diamond Hill MTR station is Plaza Hollywood Shopping Mall and we decided to shop around before embarking on our next destination (Wong Tai Sin Temple). It was at this mall I bought my PURPLE color Porter International bag. Noted I emphasize Purple because I have searching for this model for quite some time and never expect to get it at this mall.
LAST STOP OF THE DAY – WONG TAI SIN TEMPLE
Wong Tai Sin Temple, located at Wong Tai Sin MTR station which is 1 stop from Diamond Hill MTR. I reckon that the temple is a very popular temple for locals and tourists as they come in busloads even on a weekday. Once we exited from the MTR station, there are a few elderly ladies selling joss sticks, its up to individual whether to buy or not. While waiting for our elderly folks to pray at temple, I pop by to explore Wong Tai Sin Temple Mall just beside the station. Pretty big mall with quite a variety of shops, window shop a bit and left for our next destination once our folks are ready.
