Being in the the Land of Dim Sum, how can we miss not going for this iconic dishes? Instead of just venturing to Michelin star outlets, we set out to have dim sum on Jumbo Kingdom which is a floating restaurant where many of its visitors include famous people like Queen Elizabeth II, Tom Cruise, Chow Yun Fat. If you are just going for the sight seeing, day time will be good cos you can enjoy the surrounding scenery and dim sum. Night time is for visitors who would like to have seafood dinner and price could be on the high side as well. From the MTR station , we walk a bit to reach Shum Wan Pier .There we took a ferry and within 10 minutes, here we are! The architecture makes one feel like you are transported to Qing Dynasty. Sham Shui Po Shopping Street
After our great dim sum lunch, we continue to Sham Shui Po for some shopping and more eating. We reach around 3pm and the streets were bustling with open air stalls selling handphone accessories, bags as well as adult and children apparels. Sham Shui Po is in fact divided into different streets with each specialise in selling items like electronic devices, toys and textiles etc. So if time is tight,it might be good to zoom in to the street you prefer instead of just walking around because the area is really big.You can never go hungry at Sham Shui Po as there are many places where you can seat down for a meal or to just grab a snack while shopping. Being still very full from the dim sum lunch, we only manage to vist Kung Wo Beancurd Factory to have beancurd puddings and fried tofu, good stuff! My main focus is of course Fuk Wing street also known as toy street. Its the place where toy shops lined the streets and offering a wide variety of toys and games at very cheap prices. Some of the shops also sell children stationery in bulk at wholesale prices. It is here I bought loads of stuff , as much as my luggage could carry. Overall, Sham Shui Po is a great place !
