PEOPLE’S PARK IN THE SKY, PHILIPPINES – A PEEK THROUGH THE PEAK
Philippines, People's Park - Just a little effort to climb an awaiting magnificent uphill urban park, The People's Park in the Sky. Originally tagged as the Palace in the Sky during the Marcos era, this was initially constructed in 1981 to prepare for the proposed visit of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan in 1983. Unfortunately, Reagan cancelled his visit and so resulted to being unfinished until the end of the Marcos administration. Workers didn't find the construction easy because of its peculiar location. At present, the palace is an abandoned looking haunted structure, and just highlights the mind-blowing whereabouts of the awesome park. Set at the peak of Mount Gonzales, enjoy an incomparable sight of the city of Tagaytay, an almost 360 degree vision of boundless landscapes ever experienced in an unusual perspective. Options of taking an ascending walk or hopping on to one of the jeepneys to reach the site. But it is better suggested to take a stimulating walk for an added enthusiasm through the passing scenery prior to the park.
