Should you be looking for a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life for a while, take a green break with your family and friends under the cuddle weather of Mt. Manunggal.
I’ve been here several times in the past years and have found so much change in this destination for nature lovers. Let’s look around and see the improved Mt. Manunggal, the third-highest peak in Cebu Island next to Osmena Peak and Casino/Lugsangan Peak.
Tagged by many as the Little Baguio of Cebu, Mt. Manunggal Eco-Adventure is located in Balamban featuring new attractions to its visitors. Camping here is a much do all day without worrying about the hit or the sun or rainfall. You can even turn nights into mornings with friends and loved ones being one with nature.
New Highlights
What’s new in this tourist spotlight? Since the last time I came here at Mt. Manunggal back in 2019, they already have a new function hall/receiving area where you can buy stuff for your visit or stay, which also serves as a dining and resting area. There are tents for rent, a towering view deck, lots for flora and fauna, and strategic camping areas.
Activities
Baguio de Cebu Eco Mountain Adventures has a lot to offer you here:
- Camping
- Trekking
- Ziplining
- Sky bike
- Horseback riding
- Food trip
Hike to the Rocky Peak
You can even go for a trek to the rocky peak of Mt. Manunggal for 30-45 minutes and have a 360-degree view of hills and mountain ranges. Be very careful in your way up to the pointed rocks towards the peak. Sunrise is great to watch from this point.
You will also pass by the Mt. Pinatubo Engine Memorial. The Douglas C-45 Skytrain cylinder block is the remnant of the crashed plane of former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay on March 15, 1957. Also, the half-body statue of President Magsaysay is along the way to the peak.
Be mindful of the cold weather at the campsite. Wear proper clothing and keep safe always. The weather here is really great to chillax and unwind.
